چکیده
Background: Pectoralis-Serratus interfascial plane block is a peripheral of the thoracic wall that presents analgesia its anterolateral portion. Dexmedetomidine, specific α-2 adrenoceptor agonist, has sedative, anxiolytic, and analgesic properties. The aim this work was to assess safety efficacy in contrast with dexmedetomidine infusion for unilateral radical mastectomy.
Methods: This prospective randomized study carried out on 60 adult patients American Society Anaesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I/II scheduled elective mastectomy. cases were classified randomly into two equal groups: group I: received ultrasound guided pectoralis serratus interfacial II: infusion. All subjected routine laboratory investigations (coagulation profile, CBC, liver renal function tests) visual analogue scale (VAS).
Results: Total amount fentanyl increments, Ramsey sedation score total (morphine) consumption 1st 24 hours postoperative significantly decreased I contrasted II (P<0.001). Time first rescue increased than (P <0.001). Bradycardia considerably = 0.026). VAS at rest exercise 1, 2, 4 6 (P<0.05).
Conclusions: PECS-II blocks are superior provide adequate post-operative (lower analgesia) hemodynamic stability. less complications.

Multimodal Pain Management Protocol Versus Patient Controlled Narcotic Analgesia for Postoperative Pain Control after Shoulder Arthroplasty
Background: Our institution’s traditional pain management strategy after shoulder arthroplasty has involved the utilization of postoperative patient-controlled narcotic analgesia. More recently, we have implemented a protocol (TLC) that utilizes a multimodal approach. The purpose of this study was to determine whether this change has improved pain control and decreased narcotic utilization. ...
متن کاملDexmedetomidine Improves Postoperative Patient-Controlled Analgesia following Radical Mastectomy
Acute postoperative pain following radical mastectomy is a high risk for prolonged convalescence and potential persistent pain in patients with breast cancer. The present study was designed to observe the effect of intraoperative use of dexmedetomidine on acute postoperative pain following radical mastectomy under general anesthesia. Forty-five patients were enrolled into the study and divided ...

background: modified radical mastectomy (mrm) is still one of globally accepted surgical techniques for breast cancer and in some selected patient is the gold standard type of surgery. the most frequent complication of this procedure is seroma under skin flaps or in the axilla as reported as much as 30% in some studies. the use of closed suction drainage system to reduce the incidence of this c...

Optimal management for axillary recurrence is poorly understood. The aim of this study was to evaluate the risk factors for overall survival in the patients with axillary recurrence. Data of 1098 patients were collected from breast cancer registers from Clinic for Oncology Nis between 1990-1995. All patients underwent modified radical mastectomy. Axillary recurence was diganosed in 43 (3.92%) p...

OBJECTIVE To compare the outcomes of modified radical mastectomy wounds managed by closed wound drainage with suction and without suction. METHOD A prospective randomised trial was conducted at the University College Hospital in Ibadan, and the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital in Enugu. Fifty women who required modified radical mastectomy for breast cancer were randomised to have close...
